What does this fault code mean?
Although the fault code is named for an overvoltage, the condition is an open circuit in the wire to the injector on the supply side, detected by the output stage. It can be due to a break in the wire, a damaged connector, or looseness and oxidation in the connector. The engine may then lack power while driving.
Possible causes
- Break in the wire or a short to ground
- Damaged connector
- Loose connection, oxidation in the connector
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2With the ignition off, look at the connector at the supply-side injector for damage, looseness and oxidation
- 3With the ignition off and a multimeter, check that the wire to the injector is not broken
- 4If the fault remains: have a workshop check the wire and the connectors with diagnostic equipment
Symptoms you may notice2
- The check engine lamp lights or behaves abnormally
- The engine lacks power while driving
