What does this fault code mean?
Reference voltage A to some of the engine's sensors is too low, which shows up as a signal that is too low. The engine control module (ECM) monitors the supply circuit and sets the code when the voltage is too low or too high. Tracing goes through the other fuel system codes.
Possible causes
- Fault in the fuel system, to be traced through the other fuel system codes
What you can do
- 1Read the fault code and check whether the fault is still active with the ignition on
- 2Trace the other fuel system fault codes first, since tracing this code is done through them
- 3Where possible, check the relevant functions of the car with the buttons, controls or a test drive to see whether the fault affects them
- 4Check the connectors and wiring to the sensors; with a multimeter, look for open circuits and shorts to ground or supply voltage
Symptoms you may notice3
- The car performs poorly and lacks power, especially at take-off
- The engine hesitates or surges during acceleration, during deceleration or at steady speed
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
