What does this fault code mean?
The A/C relay control signal is too low. The ECM checks the signal cable that controls the A/C relay, and it also monitors the A/C system and its components. The code is set when the module finds the signal too low, or the A/C coupling relay shorted to supply voltage.
Possible causes
- Poor contact or oxidation in the connections
- Signal cable shorted to ground
- Damaged A/C relay
- Open supply cable, or a supply cable shorted to ground
- Open circuit in the signal cable
- Connections to the A/C coupling relay shorted to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Check that the relevant fuses are intact
- 2With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal cable to the A/C relay is not shorted to ground and has no open circuit
- 3Check that the connectors to the A/C relay are secure and free from oxidation
- 4If you have diagnostic equipment, read the A/C relay control signal in live data with the A/C on and see whether it is too low
- 5If the wiring is intact but the fault remains, have a workshop check the A/C relay
