What does this fault code mean?
The fault concerns a signal to the A/C coupling relay that is too low, which may be caused by a short to ground. The engine control module (ECM) drives the A/C compressor's stroke volume through a control valve and compares the valve signal with expected values. At high torque output the module can switch the A/C function off.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage, or a faulty A/C relay; see fault code ECM-P064712
- Poor contact or oxidation at the connectors, or an open signal wire; see fault code ECM-P064513
- Poor contact or oxidation at the terminals, an open supply wire, or a faulty control valve; see fault code ECM-P064519
- Open circuit or short to ground in the signal wire or the supply wire
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact and that the connectors are secure and free from corrosion
- 2With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal cable to the control valve is not shorted to ground and has no open circuit
- 3If you have diagnostic equipment, activate the control valve with the tool and check that the A/C compressor responds
- 4If the wiring is intact but the fault remains, have a workshop check the A/C system relays and the control valve

- The A/C system does not operate
- Cooling from the A/C is too weak or slow in the rear or front section
- Uneven temperature in the cabin
- The heater does not work or does not get warm enough
