What does this fault code mean?
The ECM drives the glow plugs through a dedicated control module. The code is set when the module sees a missing or faulty signal, and
Possible causes
- Damaged fuse
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connectors
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Damaged glow plug control unit
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact, since a damaged fuse can give the code
- 2Check whether glowing can be activated and whether it works on a cold engine
- 3Check that the connectors to the glow plug control unit are secure and free from oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the glow plug control unit has no open circuit
- 5If the fuse, connectors and wire are in order but the fault remains, have a workshop check the glow plug control unit
