What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named for processor performance of the bank 1 oxygen sensor, it concerns the signal to the control valve of the A/C compressor. The ECM checks the signal that drives the control valve (solenoid), and the code is set when the module detects an incorrect signal.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Open circuit in the voltage supply
- Damaged control valve (solenoid)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Where possible, check the A/C function with the buttons or controls to see how it behaves
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal wires have no open circuit and are not shorted to ground or supply voltage
- 4If you have diagnostic equipment, check the A/C system status in live data while the compressor is running and the A/C is switched on
- 5If the wiring is intact but the fault remains, have a workshop check the control valve on the A/C compressor
Symptoms you may notice1
- The A/C system does not work
