ECM-P064F00 - Unauthorized Software/Calibration Detected. General Failure Information. No sub type information
System
Engine Control Module (ECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS80 (2007–), XC90 (2003–)
Show models by year and engine (3)
What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named for software or calibration that is not approved, it concerns the signal to the A/C compressor's control valve. The ECM monitors the signal that operates the valve (solenoid), and an incorrect signal sets the code.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Signal wire shorted to ground
- Open circuit in the voltage supply
- Damaged control valve (solenoid)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2With the ignition on, use a multimeter to check the signal wires to the control valve for shorts to supply voltage, shorts to ground and open circuits
- 3Check the connector to the control valve on the A/C compressor for loose contact
- 4If you have diagnostic equipment, read the A/C control status in live data while the A/C is switched on and the compressor is working
- 5Tell the workshop if the car has received new software or calibration, and have it check the control module and the control valve
Symptoms you may notice1
- The A/C system does not work
