What does this fault code mean?
The reference voltage B feeding some engine sensors reads high, which appears as a signal that is too high. The ECM watches the supply circuit and sets the code when the voltage is too low or too high. Trace the fuel system fault codes first.
Possible causes
- Supply cable to the sensors shorted to battery voltage
- Fault in the fuel system, to be traced with the other fuel system fault codes
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2Where possible, check the relevant functions of the car with the buttons, controls or a test drive to see whether the fault affects them
- 3With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the supply wire to the sensors is not shorted to battery voltage
- 4Trace the other fuel system fault codes first
Symptoms you may notice3
- The car performs poorly and lacks power, especially at take-off
- The engine hesitates or surges during acceleration, during deceleration or at steady speed
- Warning symbol and text message in the display
