What does this fault code mean?
On bank 2 the ECM watches the control signal to the damper, and the code is set when that signal reads too high.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Damaged damper actuator
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact and that the relevant functions of the car work
- 2With the ignition off, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to the control valve is not shorted to supply voltage
- 3If you have diagnostic equipment, activate the control valve and listen for a clicking sound
- 4If the signal wire is intact, have a workshop check the damper actuator
Symptoms you may notice3
- The malfunction indicator lamp lights up
- The car performs poorly and lacks power
- The engine hesitates or surges during acceleration or at steady speed
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
