What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns the circuit of the internal temperature sensor A in the engine control module, which gives a signal that is too low. The ECM measures the temperature internally with that sensor, and the code is set when the signal is wrong. The module then uses a calculated value instead of the sensor reading.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault status when the test is complete and see whether the fault is still active
- 2If you have diagnostic equipment, read the module's internal temperature in live data and see whether it sits at a reasonable level
- 3Clear the fault code and drive the car for a while to see whether it returns
- 4If it returns, have a workshop check or replace the engine control module
