What does this fault code mean?
This code is about glow plug 2 in cylinder 2. The ECM drives the glow plugs through a glow plug control module, and a fault on glow plug 2 causes the code to be set. The signal is too low.
Possible causes
- Poor contact or oxidation in the connectors
- Signal wire shorted to ground
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact
- 2With the ignition off, check the connectors at the glow plug control module and at glow plug 2 for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to glow plug 2 is not shorted to ground
- 4If the connectors and wire are intact but the fault remains, have a workshop check glow plug 2 and the glow plug control module
