What does this fault code mean?
The control circuit of the glow plug in cylinder 2 reads a signal that is too high. The ECM controls the glow plugs through the glow plug control module, and the code is set when the module finds a fault on glow plug 2.
Possible causes
- Poor contact or oxidation in the connectors
- Open circuit in the signal wire
- Damaged glow plug control unit
- Glow plug 2 is short-circuited to supply voltage
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact and that the relevant functions work, using the buttons, controls or a test drive
- 2With the ignition off, check the connectors at the glow plug control module and at glow plug 2 for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to glow plug 2 has no open circuit and is not shorted to supply voltage
- 4If the connectors and wire are intact but the fault remains, have a workshop check glow plug 2 and the glow plug control module
