What does this fault code mean?
Although the code refers to the control module's internal supply voltage, it concerns the system relay: the code is set if the relay is still engaged after the control module has interrupted its activation.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to ground
- Signal wire short-circuited to voltage
- Damaged system relay
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, and check the battery charge and that the terminals are secure
- 2Check the fuses for the system relay supply in the owner's manual
- 3Look at the wiring to the system relay for chafing and pinch damage
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with ground (the body), with the connectors disconnected
- 5Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with voltage, with the connectors disconnected
- 6If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop check the system relay
