What does this fault code mean?
The code indicates an over temperature in connection with the control of the A/C compressor solenoid. The solenoid is driven by an internal power stage in the control module, and the fault concerns the output of that power stage. The code is set when the control module detects the fault with the engine running and the A/C function activated.
Possible causes
- Signal line from the engine control module short-circuited to voltage
- Damaged solenoid in the A/C compressor
- Internal fault in the engine control module
What you can do
- 1Start the engine, switch on the A/C and test-drive to see whether the fault returns
- 2Read and clear the fault code, and check that the air conditioning works after the test drive
- 3Look at the connectors and wiring to the A/C compressor solenoid for loose contacts, oxidation and chafing
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal line from the engine control module has no contact with voltage, with the connectors disconnected
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the A/C compressor solenoid and the engine control module

- The air conditioning does not get cold enough at the front
- Heat at the front arrives slowly
- The rear section does not get warm enough
- The air conditioning does not work
