What does this fault code mean?
The control module checks its internal circuits that supply the sensors with reference voltage, here the C circuit. The code is set when the voltage in one circuit is too high, too low or completely absent. The fault may lie in the control module itself.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, and test-drive to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the fuses are intact in the owner's manual
- 3Look at the connectors to the control module for loose contacts and oxidation
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop check the control module. For a permanent fault it may need replacing, which a workshop does
Symptoms you may notice3
- Poor performance and lack of power
- Engine does not start, at times or all the time
- Unusual noise when driving and at idle
