What does this fault code mean?
The control module monitors the oil pump actuator electrically and uses it to control engine oil pressure. The code indicates a signal that is too high in the circuit. The fault may come from a signal wire short-circuited to voltage, or from a defective or worn oil pump.
Possible causes
- Signal wire short-circuited to supply voltage
- The oil pump is defective or worn
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, and test-drive to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the connector at the oil pump actuator is secure and clean
- 3Look at the wire to the oil pump actuator for chafing and pinch damage, especially where it may have touched positive
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with voltage, with the connectors disconnected
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop check the oil pump and its actuator
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
