What does this fault code mean?
The code only shows that one or more fault codes are stored in the transmission control module (TCM) that affect emissions. The engine control module lights the malfunction indicator lamp when the transmission control module requests it.
Possible causes
- Look for the fault cause in the transmission control module (TCM)
- One or several fault codes are stored in the transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool, read the fault codes in the transmission control module first, since this code only shows that they exist
- 2Clear this code once the other fault codes have been dealt with, and check whether the MIL goes out
- 3If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop read and correct the faults in the transmission control module
Symptoms you may notice3
- Message in the display
- Malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is lit
- Check engine light comes on or behaves abnormally
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
