What does this fault code mean?
The brake control module (BCM) monitors the speed of the driven wheels and can request increased torque when the car slips. The code is set when the torque increase from the transmission control module (TCM) is implausible compared with the one the engine control module has calculated.
Possible causes
- Look for the fault cause in the transmission control module (TCM)
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, and test-drive to see whether it returns
- 2Check that the tyres are the same size and wear evenly
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, compare the wheel speeds in live data with the vehicle speed during a test drive
- 4Do not work on the braking system yourself. If the fault remains, have a workshop check it
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
