What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module checks how the clutch pedal moves using a position sensor and a position switch. The position sensor's signal arrives via the central electronic module (CEM) and over CAN. The code is set when the position sensor value does not add up, and fault-tracing then starts in the CEM.
Possible causes
- Fault-trace the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, and test-drive to see whether auto-start and cruise control work
- 2Look at the connectors at the clutch pedal and the position sensor for loose contacts, oxidation and chafing
- 3Check that the clutch pedal moves freely and does not stick
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, read the clutch position in live data while you press and release the pedal
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop read and correct the fault in the central electronic module (CEM)
Symptoms you may notice2
- Auto-start does not happen
- Cruise control does not work at all
