What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module tests whether the CEM signal makes sense. The code is set when the signal from the clutch pedal position sensor is erratic, that is not steady and predictable.
Possible causes
- Fault-trace the central electronic module (CEM)
What you can do
- 1Read and clear the fault code, and test-drive to see whether it returns
- 2Look at the connectors at the clutch pedal and the position sensor for loose contacts and chafing
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, read the clutch position in live data and see whether the value jumps when you press the pedal slowly
- 4If the fault remains, have a workshop read and correct the fault in the central electronic module (CEM)
Symptoms you may notice2
- Auto-start may not happen
- Cruise control may stop working
