What does this fault code mean?
The code means that clutch A is slipping too much, but it is set in the engine control module (ECM). The ECM receives requests over the CAN network from the brake control module (BCM), including a request for increased engine torque, and the code is set when that request is not permitted, is invalid or is otherwise wrong. The code is checked with the stability system switched on.
Possible causes
- The root cause is in the brake control module (BCM)
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the brake control module (BCM) first, as the root cause is there
- 2Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are shown in the instruction manual or on the fuse list
- 3Check that the stability system is switched on and road-test the car so that the code can be checked
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, check in live data whether the request for increased engine torque from the brake control module changes during the road test
- 5If the fault remains, have a workshop investigate the brake control module (BCM). Do not work on the brake system yourself
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
