What does this fault code mean?
The signal wire to the starter relay is shorted to battery voltage, so the voltage is higher than allowed. The control module sets the code when the voltage stays above a set threshold for a set time. It is checked when the engine starts.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to voltage
- Damaged starter relay
- Damaged control module
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are shown in the instruction manual or on the fuse list
- 2Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire has no contact with the battery positive and has no break
- 3Check that the wiring to the relay is not chafed or pinched, and that the connectors are firmly seated
- 4Check that the starter relay is intact and firmly fitted in its mounting
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop investigate the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine does not start, either always or on some occasions
What the fault can affect1
- Only manual starting is possible
