What does this fault code mean?
The ECM compares two clutch pedal switches, A and B, with each other. Switch A is wired to the central electronic module (CEM), which passes its signal to the ECM over CAN. The code is set when the signal from switch A does not change despite several speed increases during the same drive.
Possible causes
- The root cause is in the central electronic module (CEM)
- Contact resistance, oxidation or loose connection in the connector
- Damaged signal wire
- Damaged clutch pedal position sensor
What you can do
- 1Read the fault codes in the central electronic module (CEM) first, as the root cause is there
- 2Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are shown in the instruction manual or on the fuse list
- 3Where possible, check functions linked to the clutch pedal on a test drive to establish the status of the fault
- 4Check that the clutch pedal moves freely and does not stick, and that the position sensor is firmly fixed and correctly adjusted
- 5Check that the connectors at the clutch pedal are firmly seated and free from oxidation and contact resistance
- 6If you have a diagnostic tool, check that switch A changes state in live data as the pedal moves. If not, have a workshop investigate the CEM
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
