What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module monitors the engine's operating phases internally, and the code is set when the engine braking indication is wrong. The fault lies in the engine control module itself, and it is checked with the ignition on.
Possible causes
- Internal fault in the engine control module
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are shown in the instruction manual or on the fuse list
- 2Switch the ignition on and read off the diagnostic status and fault status for the code
- 3Check whether the fault is still active. If it is, have a workshop investigate the engine control module
- 4Where possible, check on a test drive that starting and idling work normally, to establish the status of the fault
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
