Applies to the following models:

Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module monitors the water pump for the coolant circuit serving the drive components of the hybrid system. Without the pump there is no cooling of the high-voltage battery. The code is set when the signal wire to the pump is shorted or has a break, or when the pump has another fault that prevents cooling.
Possible causes
- Damaged pump
- Short circuit or break in the wiring to the pump
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are shown in the instruction manual or on the fuse list
- 2Where possible, check on a test drive that HYBRID mode and combustion engine operation are normal, to establish the status of the fault
- 3Read off the fault code with the ignition on and check whether it is still active
- 4Have a workshop check the pump and its wiring, as cooling of the hybrid system is a workshop task
- 5Do not work on the hybrid system or its wiring yourself
Symptoms you may notice2
- The combustion engine is active in HYBRID mode more often than normal, or all the time
- A message and a warning symbol are shown in the display
