What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named current out of range, the condition concerns the signal wire to the coolant pump, which is shorted or has a break, or another fault in the pump that prevents cooling. The pump cools the high-voltage battery, and the fault is checked with the ignition on.
Possible causes
- Damaged pump
- Short circuit or break in the wiring to the pump
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are shown in the instruction manual or on the fuse list
- 2Read off the fault code with the ignition on and check whether it is active
- 3Have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the pump and its wiring
- 4Do not work on the hybrid system's electronics yourself
Symptoms you may notice2
- The combustion engine is active in HYBRID mode more often than normal, or all the time
- A message and a warning symbol are shown in the display
