What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named control circuit low, it concerns the signal wire between the engine control module and the coolant pump, which is shorted or has a break. The water pump cools the drive components of the hybrid system, and the fault is checked with the ignition on.
Possible causes
- Damaged pump
- Short circuit or break in the wiring to the pump
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are shown in the instruction manual or on the fuse list
- 2Read off the fault code with the ignition on and check whether it is still active
- 3Where possible, check on a test drive that HYBRID mode works
- 4Have a workshop check the pump and its wiring. Cooling of the hybrid system is a workshop task
Symptoms you may notice2
- The combustion engine is active in HYBRID mode more often than normal, or all the time
- A message and a warning symbol are shown in the display
