Applies to the following models:

Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
Although the code is named coolant pump, it concerns the coolant circuit temperature sensor. The code is set when the signal wire to the sensor is shorted or has a break, and the engine control module checks that the sensor signal is reasonable.
Possible causes
- Damaged temperature sensor
- Short circuit or break in the wiring to the temperature sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are shown in the instruction manual or on the fuse list
- 2Where possible, check on a test drive that the cooling fan runs normally, to establish the status of the fault
- 3Read off the fault code with the ignition on and check whether it is active
- 4Have a workshop check the temperature sensor and its wiring. Do not work on the hybrid system's wiring yourself
Symptoms you may notice3
- The combustion engine is active in HYBRID mode more often than normal, or all the time
- The electric cooling fan runs all the time
- A message and a warning symbol are shown in the display
