ECM-P110200 - Mass Air Flow Sensor In Range But Lower Than Expected. General Failure Information. No sub type information
System
Engine Control Module (ECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The mass air flow sensor signal lies within its range but is lower than the engine control module expects. The module compares the signal with the sensor's characteristic, and the code is set when the signal is too low and does not follow it.
Possible causes
- Air leak in the intake system
- Loose contact, contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Signal wire shorted to earth
- Break in the signal wire
- Break in the voltage supply
- Damaged mass air flow sensor
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are shown in the instruction manual or on the fuse list
- 2Check that the hoses and connections in the intake are sealed and that no air leak can be seen
- 3Check that the connector at the mass air flow sensor is firmly seated and free from looseness, contact resistance and oxidation
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the signal wire from the sensor has no break and no contact with earth (the body), and that the supply wire has no break
- 5If the fault remains after these checks, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the mass air flow sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- The check engine lamp lights or behaves abnormally
What the fault can affect1
- The engine control module calculates an air mass instead of using the sensor's value
