What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) compares fuel consumption with the calculated torque. The code is set when fuel consumption is higher than calculated while torque is too low. The cause may be a leak in the fuel or intake system, or a damaged sensor.
Possible causes
- Leak in the fuel system
- Leak in the air intake system
- Damaged boost pressure sensor
- Damaged engine speed (RPM) sensor
What you can do
- 1Check the fuel system for leaks, for example at hoses and connections
- 2Look for air leaks in the intake system at hoses and clamps
- 3Check that the boost pressure sensor connections are firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 4Check the engine speed sensor connections in the same way
- 5If you have a diagnostic tool: start the engine, vary the speed and compare boost pressure in live data with the calculated value
- 6If you find no fault: have a workshop check the boost pressure sensor and the engine speed sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
