ECM-P115800 - Lack Of HO2S22 Switches - Sensor Indicates Rich. General Failure Information. No sub type information
System
Engine Control Module (ECM)
Volvo models this fault code applies to
Applies to the following models:
4 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–), XC70 (2008–), XC90 (2003–)
Show models by year and engine (7)
What does this fault code mean?
The ECM follows the voltage from the rear oxygen sensor on bank 2, the cylinder row at the rear. The code is set when the sensor reads rich incorrectly, or when the voltage falls outside the range the ECM accepts.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to voltage
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool: let the engine idle for a while, then read the fault status once the diagnosis is complete
- 2Do not use rust solvent spray or grease in the oxygen sensor connector
- 3Check the signal wire between the control module and the rear oxygen sensor on bank 2 with a multimeter, to see that it does not short to voltage
- 4If the fault remains after these checks: have a workshop replace the rear oxygen sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- Malfunction indicator (MIL) lamp is lit
What the fault can affect1
- Control of the rear oxygen sensor on bank 2 is switched off
