What does this fault code mean?
The fuel level in the tank has dropped below the empty level. To protect the fuel system from air, the engine control module (ECM) switches the engine off at such a low level, and the code is set when this happens. The engine may therefore stall or not start at all until the tank is refilled.

- Fuel level in tank too low
What you can do
- 1Refuel and check that the gauge shows a level above the low limit
- 2Road test after refuelling and read the code to see whether it returns
- 3If the code returns even though the tank holds fuel: have a workshop with diagnostic equipment look at the fault in more detail

- Poor performance and lack of power
- The engine stalls while driving, either occasionally or all the time
- The engine stalls on start, or does not start and only cranks
- Text message and warning symbol in the display
