Applies to the following models:
2 modelsS80 (2007–), V70 (2008–)
Show models by year and engine (2)
What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) receives fuel quantity information over the CAN bus. The code is set when that signal is missing or incorrect. The fault is logged in the CEM first, and the code cannot be cleared until the CEM fault has been fixed.
Possible causes
- The fuel has run out
- Misfire
- The fuel quantity limit has been reached
What you can do
- 1Read the codes in the central electronic module (CEM) first, fix them, then clear the code there
- 2Check that there is fuel in the tank, and top up if needed
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the codes in the CEM, since the fuel quantity information comes from there
- 4If you find no fault: have a workshop check the signal between the CEM and the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice4
- Poor performance and lack of power while driving
- The engine stalls on start
- The engine does not start or does not crank, either occasionally or all the time
- A clicking sound, or no sound at all, when starting is attempted
What the fault can affect1
- Engine torque is limited
