What does this fault code mean?
The ECM monitors the high pressure side of the fuel system through the pressure sensor. The code is set when fuel pressure builds up too quickly during pre-heating, or when the fuel adaptations indicate rich running under pressure above a certain level, if the block heater was not running at start.
Possible causes
- Leak in the fuel system
- Damaged fuel pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Look for leaks on the high pressure side of the fuel system and fix any faults
- 2Check other fault codes in the control module that could affect the fuel system before replacing any part
- 3Note the engine and ambient temperatures when the fault occurs, since this helps the workshop
- 4If you find no leak or other fault codes: have a workshop replace the high pressure fuel pressure sensor
- 5If the fault returns after repair: have a workshop check the high pressure fuel pump
Symptoms you may notice3
- Idle that stalls, either occasionally or all the time
- Poor performance and lack of power while driving
- The engine is hard to start or does not start, either occasionally or all the time
