What does this fault code mean?
This code is only set during the workshop quick test of lambda control, which is used to find air leaks or low fuel pressure, for example. The fuel-air mixture then deviates abnormally from the expected value, with the fuel adaptations reset. It shows that a fault may exist that could cause lambda control codes during normal driving.
Possible causes
- Leak in the exhaust system
- Low fuel pressure
- Damaged oxygen sensor (HO2S)
- Incorrectly calculated ethanol content
What you can do
- 1Look for leaks in the exhaust system, for example at joints and mountings
- 2Have a workshop measure the fuel pressure and check the oxygen sensor
- 3If the fault remains after these steps, have a workshop check that the ethanol content is calculated correctly
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
