What does this fault code mean?
The code is set when the control module detects an internal fault in the combined sensor for oil temperature and oil pressure. Although it is named as an oil temperature sensor fault, it concerns the whole sensor, which measures both oil temperature and oil pressure.
Possible causes
- The combined oil sensor is damaged
What you can do
- 1If you have a diagnostic tool: read the oil pressure and oil temperature in live data and see whether the oil pressure stays at the same value
- 2If you find no fault: have a workshop check the oil pressure and oil temperature sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
What the fault can affect1
- The oil pressure is shown as a fixed value
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
