This code concerns variant selection, which means the engine control module (ECM) must be configured to match the car. It is set when the control module has no configuration data, or when the software that was downloaded does not match the car's configuration.
Possible causes
- The ECM has not been programmed yet
- The control module software does not match what the car is configured for
What you can do
- 1Programming the control module is a workshop task, so have a workshop download the correct software for the car
- 2If the control module has recently been replaced, it needs programming for this car, or the code may return
- 3Clear the code after programming and check that it is not set again
