What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) monitors the signal to the injectors. The code is set when the signal to an injector is incorrect. The cause may be a short circuit between the signal wires or a damaged injector. The fault applies to the cylinder the code points to.
Possible causes
- Short circuit between the signal wires
- Damaged injectors
What you can do
- 1Read the code and note which cylinder the fourth digit refers to
- 2Check the signal wires to the injectors for chafing, and see whether they have touched each other
- 3Use a multimeter to check that the signal wires to the relevant injector are not shorted to each other
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: activate the injector and check that it operates
- 5If you find no fault: have a workshop check the injector
