What does this fault code mean?
The code for cylinder 2 is set when the engine control module (ECM) finds that the signal to the injector is too high, too low or otherwise invalid.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Short circuit or open circuit on the wires to the injector
What you can do
- 1Read and note the code, clear it and road test to see whether it returns
- 2Check the connector at injector cylinder 2 for contact resistance and oxidation
- 3Inspect the wire to injector cylinder 2 for chafing, pinching and loose clips
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool: activate injector cylinder 2 and check that it operates
- 5If you find no fault: have a workshop check the injector
