What does this fault code mean?
The code for cylinder 3 is set when the signal to the injector is faulty. The cause is a signal wire shorted to supply voltage.
Possible causes
- Signal wire shorted to supply voltage
- Damaged injector
What you can do
- 1Note that the code applies to cylinder 3 and check the wire to that injector in particular
- 2With the engine control module connector disconnected, use a multimeter to check that the signal wire to cylinder 3 has no contact with battery positive
- 3Look for chafing on the wire where it may have touched a live source
- 4Check the injector for cylinder 3 for damage
- 5If you find no fault: have a workshop check the injector
Symptoms you may notice2
- The engine stalls on start
- A clicking sound when starting is attempted, but the engine does not start
What the fault can affect1
- Injection stops
