What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) has found an electrical fault in the internal circuit that drives the fuel flow and fuel pressure control valves, and in this case the circuit is shorted to supply voltage.
Possible causes
- Open circuit or short circuit to supply voltage
- Open circuit or short circuit on the ground wire
- Fuel pressure control valve is damaged
- Fuel flow control valve is damaged
- The code may be caused by a damaged fuse
- The engine control module (ECM) itself is faulty
What you can do
- 1Look for a damaged fuse, which can cause this code
- 2Clear the code and road test to see whether it returns
- 3Check the valve connectors for contact resistance and oxidation
- 4Look at the wires for chafing where they may have touched a live source
- 5If you find no fault: have a workshop check the valves and the engine control module
Symptoms you may notice4
- Unusual noise while driving
- Uneven idle
- The engine stalls at idle, either occasionally or all the time
- The engine stalls at steady speed
