What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module (ECM) compares the boost pressure sensor signal with a value calculated from the atmospheric pressure sensor. The code is set when the boost sensor signal, although within its normal range, is lower than the calculated value.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Loose boost pressure sensor
- Damaged boost pressure sensor
What you can do
- 1Look at the boost sensor connector and check that it is firmly seated and free from oxidation
- 2Check that the boost sensor is correctly fitted and has not come loose
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool: read the boost pressure in live data with the engine idling and compare it with atmospheric pressure
- 4A damaged boost sensor is also possible, so if nothing else is found, have a workshop check or replace the sensor
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor performance and lack of power while driving
What the fault can affect1
- Boost pressure is limited
