What does this fault code mean?
This code covers several faults on the injectors in bank 1. The engine control module sets it when it detects a faulty signal to the injectors. It gives no further fault type. The cause is a short circuit or an open circuit in the wiring to the injectors, and when the code is set, injection stops.
Possible causes
- Short circuit or open circuit in the wiring to the injectors
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact.
- 2Check the connectors to the injectors in bank 1. Any that are loose or corroded should be dealt with.
- 3If you have a diagnostic tool, activate the injectors in bank 1 one at a time and listen for each valve to click.
- 4Check the wiring to the injectors in bank 1 for open circuits and short circuits with a multimeter, with the ignition off.
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the injectors and their wiring.
Symptoms you may notice4
- The engine does not start
- The engine does not turn over, or turns over but does not start
- Poor performance, the car lacks power
- The engine stalls
What the fault can affect1
