What does this fault code mean?
The engine control module finds that the signal to the injectors in bank 1 is missing and sets the code. This can be caused by an open circuit in the wiring to the injectors, by damaged injectors, or by an internal fault in the module.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the wiring to the injectors
- Damaged injectors
- Internal fault inside the ECM
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover.
- 2Check that the connectors to the injectors in bank 1 are secure and not corroded.
- 3Look for broken or chafed wires to the injectors in bank 1.
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wiring to the injectors in bank 1 has no break, with the ignition off.
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the injectors and the control module.
Symptoms you may notice4
- The engine does not start, and when the fault shows is unclear
- Poor performance, the car lacks power
- The engine stalls
- The engine does not turn over, with or without a clicking sound at a start attempt
What the fault can affect1
- Injection stops
