What does this fault code mean?
This code covers several faults on the injectors in bank 2. The engine control module sets it when it detects a faulty signal to the injectors. It gives no further fault type. The cause is a short circuit or an open circuit in the wiring to the injectors, and injection stops.
Possible causes
- Short circuit or open circuit in the wiring to the injectors
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact. The locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover.
- 2Check the connectors to the injectors in bank 2 for contact resistance and oxidation.
- 3Look for broken, chafed or short-circuited wires to the injectors in bank 2.
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wiring to the injectors in bank 2 is not shorted to earth (the body), with the ignition off.
- 5If the fault returns, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the injectors in bank 2 and the control module.
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine does not start, and when the fault shows is unclear
What the fault can affect1
- Injection stops
