What does this fault code mean?
This code covers several faults on the injectors in bank 2 and is set when the engine control module detects that the signal to them is too low. The cause can be poor contact, a short to earth in the wiring to the injectors, or a short to earth inside the module.
Possible causes
- Contact resistance or oxidation in the connections
- Short to earth in the wiring to the injectors
- Short to earth inside the engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses are intact.
- 2Check the connectors to the injectors in bank 2 for poor contact and oxidation. Deal with any that are loose or corroded.
- 3Look for chafed wires to the injectors in bank 2 where they could have touched earth.
- 4Use a multimeter to check that the wiring to the injectors in bank 2 is not shorted to earth (the body), with the ignition off.
- 5If the fault returns and the wiring is intact, have a workshop check the injectors and the control module with diagnostic equipment.
Symptoms you may notice1
- The engine does not start, and when the fault shows is unclear
What the fault can affect1
- Injection stops
