What does this fault code mean?
The code indicates an internal fault in a component of the injection control. The engine control module sets it when the communication with the output stage for the injectors is faulty. The cause is a damaged engine control module, and the remedy is to replace it.
Possible causes
- Damaged engine control module (ECM)
What you can do
- 1Check the fuses and make sure the connectors to the engine control module are secure.
- 2Look for chafed or loose wires, and deal with any faults found there.
- 3If nothing is found in the wiring, the engine control module needs replacing, which a workshop does.
Symptoms you may notice3
- The Check engine lamp comes on or behaves abnormally
- The engine does not start, and when the fault shows is unclear
- The engine is hard to start and cranks slowly
