What does this fault code mean?
This is an event-controlled information code. It does not indicate a fault in the engine control module but is intended as information, and it disappears by itself when the conditions no longer apply. The module compares the measured boost pressure with its target value. The code is set when the boost pressure is higher than the target, at high engine speed and high engine load.
Possible causes
- Incorrect adjustment of the wastegate valve pressure servo
- Sticking wastegate valve
- Damaged turbocharger control valve
What you can do
- 1Read the codes and note which others are stored. This code is a knock-on fault, so the other faults should be dealt with first.
- 2Do not clear the code in advance. It does not need clearing and disappears when the conditions no longer apply, but you can clear it once the other faults are dealt with.
- 3If the code is still present after that, have a workshop with diagnostic equipment check the wastegate valve and the turbocharger control valve.
Symptoms you may notice1
- No noticeable symptoms for the driver
