What does this fault code mean?
The ECM drives the turbo control motor with a PWM signal. The code is set when the module sees a fault in the boost-control signal, and in this case the cause is an open circuit in the power supply. It gives no further fault type.
Possible causes
- Open circuit in the power supply
What you can do
- 1Check that the fuses for the boost control are intact. The locations are in the owner's manual or on the fuse box cover.
- 2Check the connectors to the turbo control motor so they are secure and free from corrosion.
- 3Look for broken or chafed wires in the supply to the turbo control motor.
- 4Have a workshop measure the supply voltage to the turbo control motor with diagnostic equipment, as the measurement is made with the ignition on.
Symptoms you may notice1
- Poor performance, the car lacks power
General guidance for car owners. Diagnosis on the car can point to a different cause.
