What does this fault code mean?
The code concerns the compressor clutch and is set when the module finds that the compressor has failed to disengage when requested. The causes are a contact problem, a damaged compressor clutch, or a knock-on fault from another electrical fault.
Possible causes
- Contact problem at the compressor clutch
- Knock-on fault from another electrical fault
- Damaged compressor clutch
What you can do
- 1Deal with any other electrical fault codes first, because this code may then be a knock-on fault.
- 2Check that the fuses for the compressor are intact.
- 3Go through the connector to the compressor clutch and check the contacts.
- 4If you have a diagnostic tool, you can activate the compressor clutch and check that it disengages.
- 5If the connector is in order, have a workshop check the compressor clutch, since a damaged clutch needs replacing.
Symptoms you may notice4
- Poor performance, the car lacks power, especially when pulling away from a standstill
- Poor performance, the car lacks power
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs unevenly, at unclear times
- The engine hesitates, surges or runs unevenly during acceleration, deceleration or at steady speed
What the fault can affect1
- Engine speed is limited
